Day Break captures the delicate layering of color at the moment morning begins to open.
On a small 10×10×4 cm cube-shaped canvas, fine horizontal textures ripple like the air’s early shimmer.
The gradient flows from green to gold, to pink-purple, and finally to a cool violet—
inspired by the poetic image of “purple-tinged clouds stretching in fine strands,”
as described in classical Japanese verse.
This soft progression of color evokes the hush of dawn,
where the stillness of night slowly gives way to the breath of light.


《Day Break》は、朝がひらき始める瞬間の、たおやかな色の重なりを閉じ込めた作品です。
10×10×4cmの小さなキューブ状のキャンバスに、小波紋様のテクスチャーが刻まれ、空気の揺らぎや光の走りを映し出します。
グリーンからゴールド、ピンクパープル、そして青みを帯びた紫へと移ろうグラデーションは、
和歌に詠まれた「紫立ちたる雲の細くたなびきたる」という情景に着想を得たもの。
朝ぼらけの空にたゆたう、かすかな光と色の層──
それは始まりの静けさと、確かな目覚めの気配を、同時に宿しています。
